Location & description
Gala is a village at an altitude of 2375 Meters in Pithoragarh district of Uttarakhand.
In the ancient route to Kailash Manas Sarovaror, the path from Sirkha came down via Rungling top to Gala and then on to Malpa to join today's new shortened route to Kailash. Gala used to be the Day 5 night halt in Kailash Manas Sarovar Yatra.
The picture shows a stream coming down from the mountains near the camp at Gala.
Today Gala camp site is bypassed in the new route that goes directly through Malpa.
Gala reportedly falls in two trekking routes in upper Himalayas,
1. Sinla Pass Trek - Kuthi Yankti to Darma Valley, and
2. Adi Kailash Trek
